0 stock level ignored

Just upgraded to 1.3.9h from a. All's fine, except that I'm finding that products with 0 stock levels are still being shown as available. All the settings in configuration > stock seem to be correct:

Check stock level true
Subtract stock true
Allow Checkout false
Mark product out of stock ***
Stock Re-order level 5
Show available stock level in cart when less than order false
Display Images in Admin false
Products status in Catalog when out of stock should be set to 0
Show Sold Out Image in place of Add to Cart 1

Where else should I be looking?

Figured it out -- it was related to the stock by attributes addon, which was partially overwritten when I upgraded. I reinstalled the addon and things seem OK now.
