show different sideboxes in different categories

i currently have a sort by price sidebox which is the urls created by the advanced search results for certain price ranges etc.

As my product range has gotten broader this makes searching by price very difficult as all categories are included, what i would quite like to do is possibly have the same thing but limit it to categories, im fine in doing that part however i would like appropriate content to show for whichever category i am in, i know you can restrict sideboxes per page but how difficult would it be to be per category?

No more difficult than restricting them by page.
You just have to test for $cPath == '23_45' or whatever it is you want.
