Version 1.5.0RC2 is downloadable from a link in a forum post. It has not yet been officially released, but is so close to final that you can safely use it to start building your site. Just update the installation when the final release comes around (probably before the end of the year, per a comment by Kim).

Version 2 is still in development and will bring radical changes to most areas of the code. Only snippets of information are available about it yet.

I shall download 1.5 and see what i can do with it and hope to be able to download add ins such as Canada Post shipping, templates, css flyout etc.

Zen already allows multiple images per product. Are you asking about a more efficient way to do it? If so, there's an add-on called Image Handler that does that.

I don't know about Canada Post, but most templates will work fine. Also, both the CSS Flyout menu and the CSS Horizontal Menu have been verified as working in 1.50.
