Stock by Attributes in Free Addons.
The installation instructions for this add-on include the following:
Prepare the package for upload to your server by renaming the following folders to match your template name: includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE and includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE.
Having just downloaded and decompressed the most recent version of the add-on, I find that the includes/modules/ folder contains no files and a single sub-folder called Pages.
I have renamed includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE but I can not find includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE.
Is there an error in the instructions or in the zipfile? Can I safely ignore this inconsistency or do I need to fix something?
Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks
Thank you for letting me know there is an add on I can use. I will try that and see if I run into the same problem with GKanes.
Look at the SBA support thread for information. If this is a real issue, it will probably have been covered there.
I have successfully installed the Stock by Attributes Add-ons. I ran into the same issue raised by Gkanes that there is no includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE, only includes/modules/pages. So I just sent the file to override the pages on the server. It seems to work ok.
However, Stock by Attribute does not resolve my problem totally. I have 2 option names/attributes under a product. The add-on only tracks by the combination of the 2 attributes and this works for T-shirts which the tracking of stock is for the combination of the size and color. My condition is different. I have an option name as "size". The other option name is Frame. option value for Frame can be wood metal, etc. and this option name/attribute "Frame" is an attribute which can be shared by multiple products. Eg. a poster size of 11x14 or 8x10 can be selected. Once the customer selects the poster A size then they can select a frame type wood. Another customer likes to have poster B with size 11x14 but also select frame type wood. Then Frame should be subtracted by 2 across the 2 posters which is at the product level. This means that I need a way to track an attribute across several products. Can anyone let me know whether there is a way or I will have to make Frame as a product by itself? If so, customer will have to go through separate buy to get a 11x14 poster A, then go to select Frame. I am hoping there is an easier way so the customer does not have a need to navigate too many screen to complete a product selection. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
