Easy Populate Advanced -- Logs me out on import product feed. Please help!.

I've been designing web pages for over 10 years, so when I tell you I've tried everything I can think of, I mean I've tired absolutely everything that has even remotely occurred to me. That being said, I'm not a shopping cart guy, in fact this is THE first ZenCart I've ever put together so take that first statement with a grain of salt and feel free to over advice that might be obvious to seasoned Zen Cart enthusiasts.

I installed Easy Populate (free) and I just could NOT get it to work. Every single time I uploaded my text tab delimited file (properly headed and everything) Zen Cart logged me out. I use Google Chrome so I was able to see the progress of the upload in the status bar (I also attempted this in IE9 and FF as I know not everything really supports Chrome just yet) so I know that the file uploaded but something happens at 100% ... I get logged out and there are no products imported to my store.

So I figure, "Well ƒµÇk-it, I guess I'll buy pro" and I do.

So now I've installed EAP and am facing the SAME problem. I can't figure it out for the life of me. So I guess my question is:

What sort of mistake could I have made during the setup of ZenCart or the set up of Easy Populated Advanced that would result in me being logged out every time I attempt to upload a product feed via EAP's import function as well as the total failure of the import?

I appreciate that, but I have already tried. Zencartbuilder.com 's "helpdesk" leaves quite a bit to be desired, I have not received a response in 72 hours and this is a time sensitive issue. Anyone else?

ZenCart v1.3.9h - on HostGator - Easy Populate Advanced v. 3.0.3

Have been using Easy Populate Advanced for 2 years now on multiple websites ranging from Zen Cart 1.38-1.39h. It works on every single one of them with no problem. Even on a site that has over 20 modules installed as EPA works outside Zen Cart.

You mentioned you had the Free EP installed. You must completely remove the Free version.

Follow the installation instructions step by step and everything should work.

The EPA is no longer supported as the developer have personal problems.

Ah. That may be the problem, I believe the old installation is still on there. I will try this as a fresh install and let you know if your solution worked. Thanks man.

I swear to holy Christmas I don't know what's wrong. I wiped the entire database, the entire root directory everything. home/*myusername*/public_html/ is completely empty.

I re-installed zencart fresh here's how it went.

1. Install Zen Cart : check

2. Edit the easypopulateconfig.php to home/*myusername*/uploads/

3. Uploaded the uploads folder to /home/*myusername*/

4. Upload EPA 3.0.3 to the proper directory (in my case public_html/manage/includes and public_html/manage

5. Went to the Admin panel then to tools>easy populate

6. error! something something click here to install *clicked install*

7. error! something something click here to select an index *selected product_model index*

8. tools>easy populate ... browse to deliminated text file, select it, import it ...

9. BAM - LOGGED OUT, as soon as it's done uploading

10. Log in

11. Nothing is there, no changes no nothing.


That's it. That's all I did. And nothing to show for it. I'm about to throw my laptop through the wall and be done with it. Can anybody see any red flags here?

Sorry I am not the developer of this modules. I have installed plenty of times following the installation steps and everything worked fine on my end.

Have you ever run an export after creating at least one product manually??

This is a step that is outlined in the wiki....
The reason - so that you get a download of the proper arrangement that the files needs to be in

How do you have something to import?
Ad what format is it in - - not file type but field by field
It is possible that what you are trying to import is not in the correct arrangement

I have exactly problem right now, fresh new zencart and easy populate , but it keeps me log out for no reason or error. how do you do right now, do you still have same problem? need help!!
