Re: Customer Log In Issues

I've had this same issue once or twice. Are they copying and pasting their password or reading it and manually typing it. l I O 0 all get confused.

Re: Customer Log In Issues

Agreed. Seems very much like end-user-error to me.

Re: Customer Log In Issues

Okay, so, it sounds like you're convinced it's a problem in your store.
And, since a fresh new uncustomized install of the store does not have that problem, that means the problem is most likely a result of something you've done to your site.
Thus, the most efficient place to start is here: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_-_Diagnosing_Obscure_Issues

Re: Customer Log In Issues

Have them check their JUNK folder. Also is your host being blocked? I know ours was and I wasn't getting any notification I was.
We were using the built in mailer setup instead of SMTP which 'spoofs' your domain. DrByte may have more insight. We set it up using SMTP.

But we were being blocked by ATT (SBC Global and all the other domains they own) and Earthlink. We submitted an unblock form and was cleared within 24 hours.

Lastly we get this ALL the time. The user has three different email addresses and do not recall which one they used to register.

You don't have to trust me but if you PM admin info I will go in and check your settings and also run some 'tests'.

Totally up to you.

Re: Customer Log In Issues

Subscribed to your newsletter and got confirmation.
I unsubcribed and got an email confirmation BUT on your store front you should say "you've been unsubscribed" instead of just returning to the main page.

I created an account and got confirmation

On your header images from your email and sales confirmations, you may want to resize them left to right the same as the defaul zen cart because it comes out too freakish large and does't look right. I think it's 500 pixels. double check.

Good idea to add the FACBOOK add us ON YOUR ORDER CHECK OUT end screen. I'm gonna do that too. Note you may want to add an FB icon istead of that long URL. Also if you creat a bunch of fake FB accounts and like your own page, if you get at least 20 I think you can create your own custom URL which looks better than

http://www.facebook.com/pages/company-name/160346584043176

You should have gotten an email creation, email order and email update and then email ship order from me.

You should have gotten several newsletters sub and unsub from me.

Also you will WANT TO CHANGE your URL to your admin section. It is TOO EASY and hackers do variations of /ADMIN/ and yours is too easy to guess.

Looks like everything works now as I got my email confirmation on everything up to the point where it was SHIPPED.

Here was the issue everyone!

Configureation> E-Mail Options>

All the emails were not properly configured

Name 2 <email@address2>

only email@address2 was done.

Also NEVER give out your admin to someone that asks for it on the board, even here. You got lucky I'm not some jerk who wanted to destory and wipe your hard work! But now you have found at least one person here you can explicitly trust with your admin if you need help again. :)

Re: Customer Log In Issues

I am no longer going to be a part of this site. It seems one ZC member here is allowed to berate and demean others here and no one is allowed to defend anyone against her.

My suggestion is get what you can out of here for free and think of only yourself since that is the attitude here.

Don't fall for the contribute attitude. No one is forcing any of the ZC crew to do anything. It's their choice to do this for free so use the resources here for what you can.

Re: Customer Log In Issues

If it worked before and it isn't working now - you need to figure out what has changed - either your host has changed something or you have added something incorrectly. Check your server logs.
