Okay, so, it sounds like you're convinced it's a problem in your store.
And, since a fresh new uncustomized install of the store does not have that problem, that means the problem is most likely a result of something you've done to your site.

I have just got another customer reporting the same thing
They have been logged into the site previously many times before with no issues
I am gettign the same thing, the site is not letting them log in for some reason
If it worked before and it isn't working now - you need to figure out what has changed - either your host has changed something or you have added something incorrectly. Check your server logs.
