Simple Dropdown causing odd Breadcrumb behavior

I installed the Simple Dropdown mod. It works, but there is an odd problem.

When I click a sub-category from the simple dropdown menu, the breadcrumb menu does not reflect the true path. It just presents the subcategory like:

HOME > WOMENS COSTUMES

instead of:
HOME > ADULT COSTUMES > WOMENS COSTUMES

Not only this, the category links in the sidebar do not update to reflect the path either. They only show the subcategories if you click them from the sidebar, not the dropdown.

I'm curious if this was intended behavior. I can live with it the way it is, but having the breadcrumb and side links responding positively would be nice.
