    Default Entire side disappeared, including admin

    Yikes! After a week of programming this, the entire site just went blank. Can't even access the admin area -- also blank. (Not error, not file not found -- just blank.)

    Site is http:://tyentsales.com

    I had been playing around in admin area, with site maintenance, and thought I'd put something there. (Yes, I'm a newbie.) But woudl this also disable the admin area.

    Please help.

    Thanks Stevesh,

    There were some errors in there. I tracked one of the recent ones and found:

    [19-Dec-2011 02:12:16] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /.../public_html/tyent/includes/languages/english/meta_tags.php on line 11

    And when I went to that file, line 11 is:
    define('TITLE', 'Tyentsales, Ionized Alkaline Water Systems');

    I don't think that syntax is wrong, is it?

    If I did a "turn on site maintenance" mistake, would this also disable the admin area?

    I'm going to go read the other cache messages. Thanks for this tip! I didn't know of this area.

    As I'm reading through the link, it discusses common errors, and to address the oldest issue first. The first file in /cache/ isn't a debug error, but a "sess_bed(...big number):

    installerConfigKeys|a:1:{s:8:"language";s:7:"english";}logfilename|s:27:"Dec-16-2011_07-49-43-Zwm9p4";installerConfigInfo|a:0:{}

    This is all greek to me.

    Right before it went down, it was displaying funny. I'm using the Aberdeen Neutral template, and mine was sizing differently from the demo (the whole thing looked like it was 80% of size, including the various graphics that are created there.

    Yikes, I hope I don't have to start again.

    That define looks OK, but try replacing that file (meta_tags.php) with a fresh, unedited copy and see what happens.

    Thanks. I replaced this in two places. That there was an additional one than the template is a little puzzling to me, but probably normal code propagation:

    The downloaded template meta file was at
    \includes\languages\english\aberdeen_neutral\meta..

    and I replaced it there, and at
    /includes/languages/english/meta...

    as was the error message. Presuming them identical, I replaced them both. And SURPRISE, it's up again, and I can access both the admin and the site.

    What still has me puzzled though it the visual "compression" of the site: http://tyentsales.com is a "shrunk" version of http://(sorry, site offline)/zc150/ (Aberdeen Neutral)

    --although, on investigation, it appears normal size in IE, and shrunk in Firefox. I disabled Firebug recently. Might this add-on be causing this problem? Anything come to mind?

    Thanks much for this help Stevesh, I was very much close to starting to rebuild the entire thing again. I appreciate it much.

    Looks exactly the same here in IE7 and 8 and FF8.

    Thanks much for all that input. Even after a full reboot, I'm still having a weird shrunk look, but only for that site (my others are all identical) and only on Firefox.

    But it's good to know that it's appearing normally to everyone else. I'll have to try this on a different machine. (And even so, puzzles me. But I can work with it.)

    Thanks!

    Found it!

    OK, I feel foolish. Indeed this narrowed down to only my Firefox. After trying css potential issues, and any other complicated thing, I thought to take a look at my Firefox "View" settings. Sure enough, "Reset to default" fixed it.

    Is there an icon here for "shaking my head in disbelief"?

    Thanks for all the assist.
