No HTMLarea Text Editor

Hello there,

Really struggling with Zen Cart! I installed version 1.5.0. Install went fine. I'm now at the part where i can get to my zencart via my domain and to my Admin area. I'm having to watch youtube tutorials as i'm a complete beginer. Im folowing one to edit the main page.

In Tools/Define Pages Editor, in the Text Editor drop down, I do not have the HTMLarea Option.

How do i add HTMLarea to that dropdown box (I only have the Plain Text option)

Thank you for any help. I'm sure this will be the first of many posts (i've looked through this forum for 2 hours!)

HTMLArea was removed from version 1.5. This is considered the best editor mod:

Probably not necessary. There's a complete installation guide in the mod package, and it's an easy mod to install.

I installed the plug in via instructions.....and it does not work. It has done nothing and I still have the txt editor....no HTML editor. Any suggestions? Barb

Go through the installation again carefully. It does work when installed correctly. Maybe there is some final step you missed.

Hi Stevesh, I must apologize in advance for asking this question. I am very new to zen-cart. over the past few days I have checked every forum question and also procured the book hoping to find a response to a 'simple' question. Not for all the 'Tea in China' could I find the installation instruction on how to install CKEditor in ver 1.5. When ever I download the editor it is downloaded as a php file. There is no text info outlining how to install. I am not very familiar with php. I therefore need a HTML editor.

Hi Stevesh, I found out the issue why when I downloaded the CKEditor Add on I was only getting a php file. I disabled Download Accelerator and I was able to get the entire zip file inclusive of the instructions. Please disregard my prior message / posting.
