Browse server/upload - define page editor not working

HI,
I am trying to add some page content to some pages in the define page editor. Does not matter which page I pick it happens on all.
Cart version 1.3.9H. If I select Browser server I attempts to open the browser and then tries to open a temp page from my PC but can't. If I Select upload and browse to a file, select to open it and upload the the file the upload window just sets their and has a scrolling progress bar the just keeps running and nothing happens no file gets uploaded. I am running a lower version of PHP on my server than recommended but changed the files in /admin/includes/modules/product/collect_info.php as from an earlier post (Strange problem after version upgrade) because the text would disappear from the products Des.

None of that upload-from-editor is actually Zen Cart code. And in fact all such upload capability by third-party tools can pose security risks, which is why it's not included in the latest version of Zen Cart.

Which editor are you using? You may need to change editors and add upload-capable addons if you wish to embrace the security risks.

And, if you're using HTMLarea that came with old versions of Zen Cart, I'm sorry but there's no support for that editor anymore ... its authors abandoned it years ago.

Happy New Year!!!
I was trying with FCKEditor. Has always worked before what has changed. I have not upgraded from 1.3.9H yet, was thinking of holding off till my hosting company upgraded their version of PHP which is suppose to happen this month next if problems arise. I have tried to use Filezilla to upload docs but can not find them to load into the cart. What is the best way you recommend to add content to the page 2, 3, 4 etc. I have allowed my clients to change their content with FCKedit. I know it is not as secure but it does allow them to make a fast change when needed. What would be a good way a non-techy would be able to do this?

Add the images using plain-text format, after the rest of the content is prepared.

ie: <img src="path/to/file.jpg">
