True true, regards people taking short cuts, I have two clients who use your system that are quite 'tech savvy', they seem know basic html + im assuming basic php. Anyhow they did the last few updates fine (1.3.x ones) but as this one includes a DB change ive had to invite them round to explain + show the full process to them.

Anyhow the reason ive mentioned the above is they had read over the upgrade procedure and got confused with the creating the new directory installing fresh + then DB copying. It may be worth revamping this with screenshot's etc (kind of like prestashop has) to help guide others and in theory the more that understand it correctly the less will bug you guys on the forum.

If I get time ill try and knock up a PDF with it all for you to add to wiki, if not its still something worth thinking about.
