Be sure to cancel them well in advance and read their cancel policy and keep all documentation upon canceling.

After I canceled them, changed the billing card info as they could not auto bill and moved my site they billed me for the next year then turned that canceled account over to a collection agency.

I had my attorney send a dispute and verify letter and the case was dropped.

I removed my htaccess file from the directory that wasn't working and my stylesheets appeared! I had changed NOTHING on this site when it stopped working

Your host changed some security settings that clashed with your .htaccess file. When they tell you they didn't change anything, they're lying.
