    Default Broken stylesheet?

    Hello,

    My website batsandbillets.com was working fine up until yesterday when I lost all the framework for my site. I have not made any changes so I contacted my host (1and1) and they told me that it is a broken or missing stylesheet.

    I keep a backup of my site so I checked all the stylesheet against what there now and found nothing different. When I press them for the specific file or css they just keep telling me they will escalate the issue and provide me with backup of the site via email.

    Has this happened to anyone else and if so is there something more I can do? I have validated my CSS and nothing came up...of course nothing is loading either so that could be why. I have double checked folder permissions just be sure nothing weird was happening even though I haven't changed anything because when I tried to view my logo by right clicking I received a 500 error which I thought was odd.

    Thanks in advance for any advice or thoughts.

    Ben

    Unfortunately, 1&1 falls into the class of webshosts that should never be used for eCommerce. They actively compete with GoDaddy for being the worst host in the world. One year GoDaddy wins that trophy, and then 1&1 decreases their service even more so that they can come back and win the following year.

    In short, you are with a webhost that is not really suitable for professional eCommerce - so don't expect any great shakes from them.

    Their monkey tells you it is a ZC issue... but a 500 error is being reported... That's the server...

    They may have fouled up the DNS configurations. Sometimes, when the stylesheets fail to load, it's because the NS configurations have gone haywire.

    Or they could have done some sort of tweaking on the server.

    Best bet is to move to a host that understands eCommerce and Zc in particular... There are a few around, and we don't host with anyone who cannot demonstrate that capacity.

    Thank you for the responses! I had thought it was a server issue but as stated, 1and1 is less than helpful. I am currently switching to bluehost but just haven't gotten the cart up and running yet. Hopefully 1and1 will figure their end out and my cart will return to normal soon. Otherwise...I'll ramp up the completion of the new cart and wave goodbye sooner rather than later!! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!

    I'd bet dollars to donuts that your host futzed with security settings or permissions. I also get a 500 error when trying to access your stylesheet.

    1and1 does not like zen cart for some reason. I had a zen cart site hosted with then until they on their own decided it needed updated and shut down my database.

    Now for your problem. They or someone has renamed everyone of you style sheets with an htm extention and placed inside everyone of those style sheet this code

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
    <head>
    <title>Error 500 - Internal server error</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-cache" />
    </head>
    <body style="font-family:arial;">
    <h1 style="color:#0a328c;font-size:1.0em;">Error 500 - Internal server error</h1>
    <p style="font-size:0.8em;">An internal server error has occured!<br/>Please try again later.</p>
    </body>
    </html>

    I hope you have backups to upload and in the meanwhile try to find a zen cart friendly host.
