Shipping multiple items

I have searched and I'm not having much luck. Can someone point me to a previous thread or a module that can help me?

I need to set the shipping rate for each item, as some items are smaller and some are larger. So, that is the first part I need help with.

The next part is how to set it up for when a person orders more than one item ... to combine shipping.

Example, a person orders an item that would cost $5 to ship, but then they also order a second larger item that would cost $8 to ship. However, both of those items could fit into the medium $8 box. I do not want to overcharge folks for shipping when items can be combined.

Any and all help and direction will be appreciated!

Ok, I found that, but it says it is based on weight. I will be using the USPS flat rate boxes. So, will this still work?
