Download Issue

I have a customer who has me stumped. (They won't test in other browsers or other computers citing that they can do anything on the web but download from our store).

I have scanned this forum to find an answer, but maybe I am just not looking in the right place.

No other customer is complaining about this issue, and I am sure it is a setting on her part, but cannot figure what it would be.

Her complaint... I tried to download my purchased items following that and that is when I encountered the long time delay and subsequent messages 'couldn't download'. Thank you for the information about your tests. The long time delay before receiving the download message immediately prohibits any attempt at a download as soon as the SAVE or SAVE AS button is selected. Yours is the only site I have experienced this type of delay.

Her specs: Using PC Vista, Browser is Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421, Connection ADSL (They live in the UK)

Thoughts?

Re: Download Issue

If it helps any of you guys out, the answer has been found. :) The issue also seems to affect those downloading .zip from our https.

The customer tried the following and no longer has any issues.

Note: this answer only relates to people who are having trouble downloading files with IE over SSL (https://), such as .exe, .pdf, etc.

  1. Click the gear icon at the top right
  2. Choose Internet Options from the menu
  3. Choose the Advanced Tab
  4. Scroll down to Security
  5. Un-check Do not save encrypted pages to disk

Thanks for the update on what the problem was with IE and secure pages and for showing the link to the IE Hot Fix for this ...
