When the successful added to shopping cart message shows at the top of the screen it pushes my store logo down and pushes the rest of the page down which then misaligns it with the page background which takes up about 85PX of the top of the page. Is there a way to prevent this at all?

From what you explain this seems to be a css error but it is hard to give furhter advise without a link to the page.
