Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

We have used Fual Slimbox for years on most of our sites. Many thanks to Brian Tyler for putting this mod together and sharing it with the ZC Community.

The transition to Zen Cart version 1.5.0 necessitated that we review and update its files to make it "play better" with some of the new features of 1.5.0.

We felt that the submission should be made as a new add-on versus a mod as it is not compatible with Zen Cart versions earlier than 1.5.0 without changes to the slimbox_install.sql file.

Fual Slimbox V 2.0 should be released shortly. Please limit posts in this forum to FSB2 only.

First of all, we need to define "new".

Is this a completely new install of 1.50 or some other version?

An upgrade from 1.#.# to 1.5.0 or some other version?

Which version of FS did you install?

Will it work if you switch to Classic template?

The reasons for the questions.... You have way too many strange things happening in the background. Some appear to be creations from older versions, some appear to be non-loading of current version files, and some appear to be that Theme 470 may not be compatible with 1.5.0 or the latest FS.

It might also be that Theme 470 has an old lightbox mod pre-installed with it.

Answering these questions (and others in the Posting Tips) will help us help you.

OK it is a new install of 1.5.0

Im not sure what version it is as i renamed the file so it was easy for me to remember

It goes to a new window if i change templates

i did try and install zen light bob but it didnt work and i wasn't sure how to unistall it when it didnt work.

Also tried to install image handler but that didnt work either

I would suggest you start over with fresh 1.5.0 files, add the theme and , then, reload FS. Too many pieces left from all the things thrown at the site. You may never get all the pieces out without starting over. Take the time to read all the docs for ZC, any theme, and mod. The time taken is more than worth it to you later.

A lot of mods will not work if their files are renamed as other files in the mod will be looking for them by name.

With FS (and MOST mods), there's documentation provided in some form that includes many of the steps and questions involved in the mod's installation. See the Documentation folder included in the latest FS. There's even instructions for those using LightBox.

Before adding ANY mod to Zen Cart 1.5.0, you should first check its page in the the Free Software Add Ons to see if it is 1.5.0 "ready." If it does not say that it is for 1.5.0, then you need to check http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=183643 to see if the mod has been tested and found to work with 1.5.0. Even your Theme470 should be thoroughly investigated to see if it is really 1.5.0 ready.

Recent tweaks to FS don't seem to be on the Add Ons site so I am loading them now. PM me if you need them before the system shows FS version 2.1.0.

In doing testing with the upcoming Image Handler release, I discovered that some of the files in the Fual Slimbox fileset still had old Zen Cart code.. I JUST submitted an update which makes the following changes:

• Updated the following files to remove leftover 1.3.8 and 1.3.9 code and to make sure 1.5 code is all merged in:
  
  • includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE_FOLDER/additional_images.php
  • includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_FOLDER/templates/tpl_modules_main_product_image.php
  
  

I also included comments in the code so it's a little clearer for those merging these files with other mods where the changes occur.

Tested with the upcoming Image Handler release and all works well..

"doesn't work" or "it's broken" type of posts doesn't help the community to help you.. also without a link to see what you see, your post doesn't give anyone a clue as to how to assist here..
