I usually delete all existing banners when I start so there's no confusion with the ones I'm creating.

Did that but for some reason I can not get all of the original side-boxes to reappear again. So I am wondering how to re-create sideboxes which I can then place the new image into.
Example: Tell a friend is set as follows:
sideboxes/tell_a_friend.php ON RIGHT 65 70 OFF
yet you look at the site and there is nothing there....
view store
Some sideboxes (including the banners) don't display until there is content for them.
Okay bad example on my part. There was a sidebox called banner_box.php that had Sponsors in the heading. so I looked in the Column Boxes Your_template area and yet when I try to turn in on, it doesn't appear.
I do not know if I created the correct path for the Your_templates, or if it is something else. The path I created was /store/includes/templates/modified, so I do not know what happened. So if I wanted to create a sidebox labeled "Sponsors" and then add the banner I created with the new image, where do I do that, and how?
What banner "group" did you specify for the banner you're expecting to appear? How does that compare with other groups that DO appear?
In your admin configuration which groups have you defined for which sideboxes?

Good Question. I deleted all of the banners that were in the list. I created a new banner and for the banner group stated "BBI Banners" then browsed for the image located in "store/images/bbi badge". I had manually uploaded the badge using filezilla. Set banner active, banner new window yes, banner on SSL yes, url blank, image target (save to) blank
Admin->Configuration->Layout Settings ... what groups have you assigned to which banner boxes?
