I am aware the Easypopulate causes a problem with an imported product's master category, which in turn causes problems when searching for those imported products. I used the solution by Ajeh mentioned in this thread, which worked:

I want to know if there are any (any whatsoever) possible side effects that this will cause to my store.

I have 1600 products, with a handful of linked products.

To import products into my store, I first mass import them into a category called 'Upcoming Products' using Easypopulate. When I get around to editing those imported products, I move them into their new, sorted category.

I import products regularly, and want to know if it is safe to apply Ajeh's solution regularly?

I also use Easypopulate to update my prices and stock, and so again, I just want to make sure that the solution that Ajeh mentioned will not have any side effects.
