Partial upgrade from 1.3.9h to 1.5?

Since I use two very important addons (stock by attributes that affects all the stock and simple seo url who is responsible for all the links indexed on google) that are not compatible with 1.5 I can't upgrade.
I wonder if who keeps using 1.3.9h is taking security risks and if so, if it is possible to partial upgrade, at least to cover the known bugs of 1.3.9h. Or have the admin profiles.
Since a 1.5 compatible SBA or SSU may take very long time or even never come out I don't know what should I do

There are currently no known serious security expoits in 1.39H, so you're fine until the modules are updated for 1.50.

PS: Stock By Attributes is an important mod that is used by many, many Zenners so I'd guess that somebody will get it updated. You can safely dump Simple SEO when you upgrade since it isn't doing anything other than making the links look pretty.

I will continue to tweek and improve my site on 1.3.9h and hopefully when those 2 modules are updated I will update everything.

It would be nice to have the admin profiles tough since we (me and my partner) are looking to hire our first employee!

About SSU I'm afraid if I dump it I will have thousands of broken links on google and drop my ranking.
Also the links actually make sense, customers don't need to click the category they can just type www.oursite.com/proteins and get to the protein category since no one will type index.php?main_page=index&cPath=136

They're not really supposed to though.

No one will type www.oursite.com/proteins either. They'll just type www.oursite.com (thats if they type anything at all) and then click on the category links for whatever it is they are actually looking for. IOW, they'll do the one thing you say they won't do.

Most people would rather click through 10 links before typing a few extra characters.
