Is it possible to use weight per unit for US domestic shipping and then use USPS module to calculate international shipping? If yes, please tell me how to do this. Thanks!

You could build Zone Definitions for the US and International and on the Details enter what makes up each Zone ... then add those Zones to your shipping modules ...
