    Default Upgrade problems

I am in the process of the upgrade. When I went to log into my Admin for my site it gave me this message "database upgrade required. please run the 1.3.9-to-1.5.0 upgrade via zc_install" . So I can not even log in to my admin for my zencart. if I go to the zencart site the store looks fine, but I want to log in to my admin so I can finish setting it up. What do I need to do?

What differences exist between your /admin/includes/configure.php and your /includes/configure.php file, as far as the DB_XXXXXXX settings go? They need to be the same. And, if the files are read-only then you can't save changes to them until you make them writable first.

We created a new store via our cPanel and used the 1.5 version of Zen cart. then installed our backed up database to it. when I open up the zencart using that url it looks good, just can't log in to my admin settings, when I use the url to do that I get the message stated above.

That's not a correct upgrade procedure.

You MUST upgrade the database, else your database structure is still based on the old version, and things will not function correctly.

So ... as the message says, upload the zc_install folder and run it, and choose Database Upgrade when prompted. Read the upgrade instructions mentioned previously for more detail.
