    Default No Catalog Folder

    Hello,

I have searched for this to the best of my ability. If it's already been posted then I apologize, please point me in the correct direction.

I am doing a new install of Zen and the instructions say to do the following:

"Two files need to be created on the server. These are the configure.php files that identify the settings of your particular server and the location of the files that you just loaded. After they have been created, you will then need to change the permissions on these files.

On the server locate the file: /catalog/includes/dist-configure.php
Rename this file to configure.php and change the permissions to 777 (read-write-execute for all) "

Next, on the server locate the file: /catalog/admin/includes/dist-configure.php
Rename this file to configure.php and change the permissions to 777 (read-write-execute for all)"

This is confusing. Am I creating files or am I merely renaming files?

If I must create files from scratch I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to do that.

If I am renaming files then we have a whole new problem:
There is no 'catalog' directory in my version of Zen. There are 2 files with the names as specified, but one is located in the zen/includes directory and the other is located in the zen/admin/includes directory.

I downloaded directly from the Zen site and looked at the download folder and there just isn't a catalog folder to be found. Can someone kindly clear this up for me?

The solution was probably following the instructions. Just rename the dist-configure.php files to configure.php. They were confused by the line that reads "two files need to be created on the server". And also confused by the reference to catalog directory, which is really just whereever the store is installed.

See the post just before yours. It was just a case of instructions that could be misinterpreted.

Yep.. most issues can usually be traced back to installation errors (not reading/understanding/following user documents)
