H1 page heading / title not changing

You are using Ezpages Footer Columns, but there is no indication that you are getting the erroneous headings from that - all the URLs it feeds are correct. Its code cannot see or touch the destination page <h1>.
The Shop by Brands link in the footer cannot be duplicated from the sidebox, only individual brand links which work the same no matter where you reach them from.

Most if not all of these "Products" headings are generated from defined constants, and by numerous different files which couldn't all be malfunctioning. Try Tools > Developers Toolkit: paste Products in the upper left box, select All Main Language Files - Catalog, and search. See what defines are set to 'Products'.

thanks for the tip regarding the dev tool kit. however the first one I tired which is the My account page. I have looked at the english file for account, account_history, account_history_info account edit and all seem to have the correct defines and not using the word product and yet the heading is product on the my account page and the edit page, change password page etc.

it is a mystery as I cannot see where is is pulling this from.

How many results do you get for 'Products' when doing the search described? What happens if you do the search in the lower left box? (Select "case sensitive" to limit the results to the exact capitalization you are seeing.)

Thank you - seems to have done the trick - I did seem to have that file lurking and deleted it. All seems back to normal.
