attributes controller sends me to home page

Hi all, I don't know what happened but when I try to use the attributes controller to add drop downs to my products it just sends me to the home page with no changes to the product, the last thing I can remember doing was installing the "short description for categories 1-2" and that didn't work so I removed all those files and reset the files I had already from .bak and now I cant get the attributes controller to function, any help would be greatly appreciated !

I have the same problem after upgrading. How did you fix it?
When i try to add attributes and click'insert' it takes me to the admin home page with no changes to the product.

My guess is that you're using outdated addons that aren't compatible with the security improvements made in the new version you're using.

If you remove the addons, by using only the official versions of the PHP files in your admin folder, then the admin symptoms you described will not occur. You may of course lose functionality you were expecting from addons.

I wasn't to far into my site building so I simply uninstalled it and did a fresh install, I will just keep it simple and won't install any more addons.
