Default Uploading products with colour/size variations

I'm new to Zen Cart but loving it so far!
I have a data file of products that I want to add but I have an issue that you may be able to help with:
Each of the products is available in a number of sizes and colours and every combination of these is listed in the data file separately (i.e. "T-Shirt 001, Black, Large", "T-Shirt 001, Black, Medium", "T-Shirt 001, Black, Small","T-Shirt 001, White, Large", "T-Shirt 001, White, Medium", etc).
When I upload this using Easy Populate each line of the data file appears as a separate product and is an issue with 50,000 such lines of data.
Obviously I want display a single product as T-Shirt 001 available in Black & White and sizing Small, Medium & Large.
Do I have to change my data file to show all the colour and size options before it's uploaded or is there something that can group the products based on the product code (for instance?)

    Your topic deals with ATTRIBUTES.

While Easy Populate CAN assist with the mass-upload of attributes, we recently found that the APSONA SHOP ADMIN system is much easier to use for this purpose.

You will need to set up the OPTION NAMES and their relative OPTION VALUES first, but APSONA then allows you to allocate attributes to products using a spreadsheet.

This spreadsheet needs to be configured in a way that is compatible with Apsona's methodology, and it is highly unlikely that the spreadsheet provided by your supplier will be in a compatible format.

So you will need to re-configure the attribute data (in the spreadsheet) before you are able to do the mass-upload.

It will help a great deal if you know the tools and tricks within MSExcel, or the OpenOffice equivalent, that help you rearrange your data.

There is a video tutorial on Apsona's website that walks you through the steps.

You will need to sign up to Apsona, then install their module, before you can use their shopadmin system.

    Hi schoolboy,
Thanks for the info. I'll check out Apsona.... I can change my data if need be as it's in a database that I can manipulate quite a lot.
So just to confirm.... I still need to upload my products as a single line per product with the sizing and color options within that line?
