This is straightforward unless you don't understand what CHMOD means. The instruction tells you to change the permissions of these folders.

I don't have Google Merchant Centre tab in my configuration list.. I placed all the files and installed sql patch... but I can't see any Merchant Center configuration..
How did you install the SQL patch, the menu not appearing says that either all the files needed for the admin menu were not uploaded or the SQL did not install correctly to register the menu.

Hello I see Admin->Configuration->Google Merchant Center Configuration but there is only a table header Title Value Action with no buttons or line items.

I have digital/cd products and google feeder wants shipping, tax, brand, mpn and google product category. I would set this by hand but don't know what the actual attributes are.

I believe some people cannot see menu items because they might have old 1.3 files mixed with 1.5.

Same problem here, I see the header but no configration options.

I installed it on a 1.5 which wasn't an update from 1.3, so normally I shouldn't have mixed files.
Got an sql error when I did the sql patch so maybe got something to do with that:
    12 statements processed.
ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists
ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists
ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists
Note: 1 statements ignored. See "upgrade_exceptions" table for additional details.

Has anyone figured out how to modify the template to hide display-only attributes?

still struggling to hide the display only attributes from the product pages. I got these instructions from a post in numinix thread
This file needs to be edited:

    /public_html/YOUR_CATALOG/
    includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE/attributes.php

each query that selects data from the table TABLE_PRODUCTS_ATTRIBUTES needs to have the following condition

    AND patrib.attributes_display_only = 0

Note, that on one of the queries, the table TABLE_PRODUCTS_ATTRIBUTES is referenced as pa so the condition would be

    AND pa.attributes_display_only = 0
i have tried the above -
    from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_OPTIONS . " popt, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_ATTRIBUTES . AND patrib.attributes_display_only = 0 " patrib

but once all TABLE_PRODUCTS_OPTIONS have been amended as above ,, all that seems to happen is the whole product page is hidden..
Anyone got any ideas too hide just the display only attributes... thanks

The free Google Product search is going by, by. Just another way for Google to make Billions off Businesses. No Offense to anyone.
I'm not interested in paying for a ton of products to be included in their search results. Just another way to hurt the small business owner.

    Google Shopping

First, we are starting to transition Google Product Search in the U.S. to a purely commercial model built on Product Listing Ads. This new product discovery experience will be called Google Shopping and the transition will be complete this fall. We believe that having a commercial relationship with merchants will encourage them to keep their product information fresh and up to date. Higher quality data—whether it’s accurate prices, the latest offers or product availability—should mean better shopping results for users, which in turn should create higher quality traffic for merchants.

We’re giving merchants a few months to transition to this new model, and we’re also offering some incentives:

    • All merchants who create Product Listing Ads by August 15, 2012 will automatically receive a monthly credit for 10% of their total Product Listing Ad spend through the end of 2012; and
    • Existing Google Product Search merchants can receive $100 AdWords credit toward Product Listing Ads if they fill out a form before August 15, 2012.

To learn more and get started merchants can visit: www.google.com/ads/shopping

Ranking in Google Shopping, when the full transition is complete this fall, will be based on a combination of relevance and bid price--just like Product Listing Ads today. This will give merchants greater control over where their products appear on Google Shopping. Over time they will also have the opportunity to market special offers such as “30% off all refracting telescopes.”

In addition, merchants who want to stand out from the crowd can choose to participate in our new Google Trusted Stores program. Google Trusted Stores is a badge for e-commerce sites which gives users background on merchants—whatever their size—including ratings for on-time shipping and customer service. Google stands behind merchants that have earned the Google Trusted Stores badge with a $1,000 lifetime purchase protection guarantee per shopper.

    Hi,

I'm using "Google Merchant Feeder" version 1.13.0. The URL it created in the XML <LINK> gives a 404 page not found.

    Example:
    <link>http://www.mywebsite.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;products_id=8982&amp;currency=USD</link>

Is there a way to use the product model in place of the products_id ? or some other fields that will make the URL work?

    Thanks
    Kevin
