Adding weight from invoice

I need a field in the products attributes enter a number to their physical location. I want to use the weight field for this variable. Ie instead of entering the weight I use the location code. now, as I can activate the field of weight (now used for the location code) so you can see on the invoice.

Why would you use the weight field instead of creating a Text option in the attributes area or by using the zones area?

The weight field is attached to many (maybe hundreds of) files and ties directly into your zen cart core coding. So using the weight field as an attribute will cause you many problems. What I mean is the weight is PHP coded into maybe hundreds of files and it relates to "weight" only not locations.

You need to either use the attributes or create zones under: Locations/Taxes area of your control panel for your application.

If you can be a little more descriptive in this post as to how your location codes would work, then maybe you will get much more help. Your question is a little vague at this point. Please give more details about these location codes and why they are being used and perhaps we can help.
