Help with expanding main section

Hello,

I wish to increase the space between the two sideboxes I have on my website, unfortunately I have no idea how to do so, and I couldn't find in a search here. Is it possible with my bad template?


I feel I have too much "dead space" after the sideboxes.

Is there any way to align the whole site to the left, (and if so, to completely hide the right sidebox)

Adjust the pixel width in #mainWrapper in your CUSTOM TEMPLATE stylesheet.css file.

My answer (above) applies to CONVENTIONAL, PROPER TEMPLATES - not TM I'm afraid...

These are AWFUL templates (they may "look nice" but they are FULL of hard-coded sections that destroy conventional behaviour and settings).

You need to put your question to the people you bought the template from...

Try adjusting the .main setting in stylesheet_tm.css

.main_w {width:766px; margin:auto;}

to

.main_w {width:966px; margin:auto;}

Yeah I do suffer a lot from my template (I was too dumb)

It did solved the problem, I changed the width to 1000+ something. However, now all my products descriptions are located on the right side of the product image, and not bellow it.

Is there any solution for this?

The main problem with TM templates is that they are designed to BE SOLD... When yoy first go to TM website, you get seduced by well-drawn graphics, and TM preys like vultures on inexperienced website owners. You give them your money, and only later do you discover that MOST of the functions that yoyu would set as standard, are not available.

And then you come to the forum and no-one can help you, because the helpers are mostly experienced with PURE zencart - not the car-crash code that TM mashes together.

In many cases, TM either REMOVES CORE CODE or modifies it so much that it is impossible to see what they have done, without going into their module and template PHP files.

Sure... people can help you... but it could take several hours to unpick problems, and what exzpert can afford to give away several hours for free? I certainly can't...

MOST Template Monster designs can be replicated on PROPER zencart.

You should have a go.

Alternatively, choose one of the excellent free templates from the add-ons... Picaflor Azul has made some fantastic ones, that are very easy to customise.
