Image Handler 4 (for v1.5.x) Support Thread

Using Image Handler 4 and everything works fine. Except if I change the Featured Product width to any other size other than 100px the "IH small images zoom on hover" stops the working. The hover works fine if I leave the width set to the default value of 100. But, if I change it to any other value the hover stops working.

Anyone's help will be appreciated.

I have IH4 installed on my cart and working perfectly - AMAZING addon, it saves SO, SO much time with my images!

The only problem I've noticed (maybe it's a bug?) is with my 'reviews' sidebox. I have mine on the right column. All of my IH4 hover images pop up to the right. When I hover over my 'reviews' sidebox image, it tries to pop up to the right but hits the edge of the screen, and then pops to the left. Sometimes it shows two images on hover at the same time. It then has a 'ghost' effect where it leaves an imprint of the image on the screen until I scroll past it, or use other pop up hover images that cover it and wipe it out (if that makes sense).

This ONLY happens with my reviews sidebox on the right column.

I am testing this in Google Chrome. I have the current version of zen cart.

Just installed IM4. And I am SO HAPPY!
I previously unbeknownst to me, installed an older version of IM2 on a ZC1.5 and nothing, nada. It didn't crash it, but i didn't see it, but then again i was pretty new to ZC at the time. So, i installed Image Manager in hope of finding a good image management tool with watermarks option. Nope. That was still in alpha i think. More work needed.

Then I decided to come back to IM and found v4. WOW! The install was very well documented and all things said for ZC open source model, IM guys really did a great job of taking away as much pain as possible (they even did backup of your files they over write).

The install manual is tabbed for easy to follow instructions.

I had installed Zen Lightbox first so I had to take several extra steps, which in the end turned out only precautionary, as the core files (to my knowledge) were not changed from my original. I did a DIF on the files and found no changes. If you're on a MAC, text Wrangler is great. It has a sweet arrow button to transpose your DIFs to the newer file.

Anyway, I am SO HAPPY now because I've been searching high and low for a loooong time now (tried Gallery3 - sweet project but little in terms of robust plugins like watermark and digital goods shop cart handling).

All thanks needs to go to Tim Kroeger for developing this little gem way back when to begin with, and to the BEST volunteers in all of Zen Cart land who have helped keep the documentation tight and the add-on working ever since (nigel, ScriptJunkie, ckosloff, derr mano (sp), torvista!!!

I am so glad you are happy about the auto installer.. We took a little flack for fully automating the IH install code (graciously developed by the venerable niccol), but I think it was step in the right direction as illustrated by DECREASE in the number of support question surrounding the IH installation..

Just one thing though. I have installed the additional_images.php from image handler, as stated in misc, because i already had zen lightbox mod installed, but now the next button/link doesn't show in top right of lightbox, (to show additional images), when you click the larger image link in zen cart.
Is it possible to fix this, and how?

Posting my original post here again - it seems I've misplaced my post in the thread (even though it was linked in the readme file..?)

I've installed IH4 on my clean 1.5.0 installation and I don't know whether it's my mistake or the software simply not working but I'm fed up with trying to get it to work.

The first install, I didn't have the IH options in my Configuration panel. They just weren't there. It didn't create any resized images either. (Yes, it was set to resize images in the settings.) The Tools->IH4 menu did show up, though.

Uninstalled and installed again and now this scenario played out: the small thumbnails on the category overview showed from the bmz_cache (as I expected). The hover effect showed the same small image (quite useless in that case) - the product page showed the original image that I uploaded (no change) and it linked to a 404 xxx_LRG.jpg file that didn't exist. (Folders were chmodded to 777)

For a product that says it works out of the box, I'm not exactly diggin it.

OK. Although I have not read every single post of this thread, I was darn close. I'm a newbie, so please be kind. I have downloaded this plugin and reviewed the readme file several times, but I cannot figure out how to install this plugin. The links in the readme file do not work for me. I've tried different browsers and same result. I know, you must think I'm an idiot. You are probably right. Can someone just point me the way on which files I need to upload to where? Sorry for such trivial request.

Ive just moved IH4 on my ZC1.5 to a new host
IH is not working for some reason. Ive chmod 777 all image and bmz images and folders. Im getting the old images showing.

When i moved my site i did a cpanel backup. I had to add a new database user as well as change the folder path in the /includes and /admin/includes config files. I cant understand why it doesnt work now

I just installed IH4 and im using v1.5, the IH4 installation was successful. But when I went to add a new categories I notice that sub directories under catalog is blank when I click on it. Before I installed IH4 this was working just fine. I really need this fix to get my site up and going already. What could of gone wrong during the installation for this to happened. Thanks in advance guys.

I've spent at least 6 hours researching this problem -- images not showing in Admin Manager mode.

I installed Image Handler 4 a few days ago and i'm amazed... a brilliant add-on!

All images display correctly on the web site. However, when I look in Admin Manager mode (viewing/adding/changing the images for a product), all images are represented by an " image X", like the image cannot be found.

I followed instructions and after installation I replaced the "additional_images.php" from Image Handler4 with the one that comes with Zen Lightbox.

SEO friendly file names?

Hello, I am currently using image handler 4 and am concerned that it renames my files in a way that keep them from showing up in google image searches. Is there any way to keep the clean file names I created as well as title tags and alt tags?
