How can i attatch a different item number to separate attributes?

Hi guys,

Been working on my shop for the past few days and i've come to the hurdle of putting all my products on, however i have hit a hurdle and hoping someone can help me out,

Basically the product is the same price regardless of the attributes, for example Size: small,medium,large are all the same price but have different item numbers.

What i want to do is set a different item number to each variable so

Size:
Small = A51
Medium = A52
Large = A53

Can't figure out how to do it and google isn't helping either.

You would have to write the code to do that - Zencart doesn't support model number by attribute now.

One kludge is to include the model number in the attribute name (Small - A51) but that requires you to set up separate attributes for each product.

Can't beleive they haven't included this yet ive got over 1000 different products all with different sizes and item numbers. Didn't they say it would be released in 1.4 ?

Ok i had an idea, im going to have to type it all up regardless but could i have in the attribute box for example

Small "A051"
Medium "A052" where all in " " is not viewable by customer purely for the aesthetic means.

It doesn't even work in 1.39, so it definitely won't work in 1.5
I tried to make it work but it needs a lot of code added an changed to make this one work, so it will have to wait.
