    Default Lost Product Dimensions

I just installed ZC 1.5 and have been adding modules for different things. In the process I seem to have turned off (I assuming) the Product Size Dimensions so I can no longer enter specific sizes for my products.

Any help as to how to get this back would be greatly appreciated

"Product Size Dimensions" is not a built-in core feature in ZC v1.x, so that must have come from an addon you'd been using in a different version.

Product dimensions are added via some shipping modules, most notibly Ozpost and Canada Post. (there may be others).

Both of these add-ons make changes to three files located in your /admin/ folder (or the renamed admin folder), so by re-installing these files from either of these addons will get things functional again.

Your existing dimension data will/should remain intact.

    Cheers

... with one proviso: they need to be built for the version of Zen Cart that's installed. Don't mix-and-match files belonging to different versions.

Or better yet, read the installation instructions that are supplied with either module and manually update the files pertinent to the zencart version being used. :)

It would save a lot of people a lot of hassles if only the zencart team would make the required changes as part of the core code.

It's trivial to do, and will have no negative impact on those that have no need for this support. The only reason why this isn't a part of the core code is sheer stubbornness on the part of the zencart team.

Dare I say that Zencart is currently the *only* shopping cart system (that I am aware of) that doesn't allow products to have dimensional data assigned.

It isn't as though I'm requesting the team to actually *do* anything with this data, it just needs the relevant fields to be added to the database (and the means to edit said data).

Not one of the team have ever given a reason why this request is continually denied... I'd be happy if there was even one reasonable explanation for it, but there really isn't. Convince me otherwise.

    Cheers

    It is. In v2.0

You really don't have any facts to base such allegations on. Careful about your assumptions.

Ha! While *you* may not care what happens with the data, the number of complaints about "my store is broken because I gave it dimensions and it's not using them anywhere" would be many times greater than those asking for it.

It's not been denied. It's been specifically built in to a future release.
    Nothing to convince.
