XML parsing error- Canada Post

this thread was entered a few years ago with no answer to it. I am having the same issues happen and would like to either eliminate the "XML parsing error" or have it not display as the older thread had asked for also.

I have one item that I am giving free shipping on. when you go to the check out page to choose the shipping method, the canada post module box reads:

XML parsing error.
If you prefer to use Canada Post as your shipping method, please contact the Store Owner via Email.
The free shipping method also shows up as planned.

I just want to get rid of the canada post shipping option when this item is selected for checkout by it self.. is this possible?

You could be barking up the wrong tree. The real question is why is a shipping cost trying to be obtained from Canada Post if the item has free shipping?

The XML error is probably nothing more than a symptom, not the problem itself.
