    Default Installation Directory

Total noob here, going to start setting up my zencart site for the first time in the coming weeks but had a small question.

I just installed everything into www.mydomain.com/shop This is fine for now but I want the cart to be integrated on the homepage also but didn't install it in my domains root directory. How do I go about having the cart load for www.mydomain.com? I saw a post about moving it and renaming some locations and I want to get this setup right before I start modifying it. Would it be easier to just uninstall it and start over? If so, is there an easy way to uninstall?

Well, it's up to you, and how comfortable you feel folowing the instructions on the moving tutorial; most probably it's less headache to delete the /shop directory, and the database, recreate the database, and reinstall in root.

You don't even need to do anything with the database. Just delete the original fileset and reinstall in the root using the original db info. Choose "install" rather than "upgrade" if/when you are presented with the option.
