Surely it wouldn't be so very hard to write a little code that would simply compute the postage for an order in separate "lots", X amount for products from Manufacturer #1, Z amount for products from Manufacturer #2 - just treat one order like a group of smaller orders, segregated by where the merchandise comes from.
I mean, suppose you have two or more drop-shippers, local merchants, and your own stuff all offered on one store? How could you manage to charge the correct shipping, otherwise?
It seems like this is something that someone, somehow, somewhere, ought to do someday. And in the meantime, how do people address this problem?
