Hi,
I must have missed where it stated what it would work on. OK, we have established I broke the Menu (LOL).
No one said I could fix it or not. Is their a set of files I can copy back in to repair the menu?
Should I remove the FCK editor folder and any other files from the incorrect editor add on?
Thanks for the help,
Mark
HI, Well since no one answered I tried it myself. Just removing the folder and installing CKEditor made no change in the menu problem.
With the 1.5 upgrade does that mean ONLY 1.5 Add Ons will work with it?
That's not what it means.
As with ANY version change, there may be things that have had to change in the core code which may make some addons need updating to work with the new/better methods of coding.
It just so happens that the v1.5.0 upgrade needed to touch a lot of things in the admin in the interest of improving security and insulating against more sophisticated web attack strategies. Plus, storeowners have been asking for admin-level access control, which was also necessary from a PCI perspective, so that was done but required a complete rearchitecting of the admin menu system. And the list goes on. You can read all about all the changes in the Release Announcement and in the documentation in your /docs/ folder.
But that's more than what you were asking.
Simply put: If an addon for v1.3.x touched admin files then it most likely needs some updating to work in v1.5.0, especially related to menus and form submissions, and a few other areas.

Hi Doc,
Good to hear from you. I love too hear your insight on the Zen-cart help me understand its inner workings.
So it is best if I do not use any Add On that does not have the 1.5 on it and stay away from any 1.38 or 1.39 add ons.
I guess I can live with that now I know the gory details. Just did not realize what a 1.38 or 39 add on would do to the new version. Don't need to introduce any new bugs and problems. Bad enough dealing with all the little bugs the PHP version upgrade introduced into my hostings.
The next question then is can I repair the damage I have done or do I need to start from scratch.
As always I really appreciate the time you take to explain cart operation and help with my problems.
Thanks You,
Mark
I don't know specifically what's caused the problem for you.
I would start again, it's the smartest approach. And test things after every addon you install, so at least you know which one breaks things if something bad happens.

HI Doc,
Thank you for the advice. Was hoping their was a fix too save some time, such a precious thing, I will start from scratch. I will check everything and stay away from old add ons. Hopefully this also clears up the problem with the "source" page only showing in the define page editor just no way to toggle it.
