Default Problems with Google Base Feed

I upgraded my site to 1.5.0 hoping this would go away but it hasn't

When ever I try to upload a mysql patch it loads for a while and
then the screen goes to my Home Page.

Perhaps this is a database problem? Please help.

What makes you think it may be a database problem?

Exactly what is the mysql patch that you are trying to upload?

    More info needed.

    Cheers

Hmm maybe its my config not sure. Of a file permissions problem.
I only thought it was DB cause I replaced every file with the new version

Current problem is trying to upload the patch for Google Base feed
I went into phpMyAdmin and uploaded the patch ( so that did work fine.)
but when I went to create my feed it opened a new window did its process
(I can see that in the window) but when it was completed (but it wasn't)
my main page appeared in the minimized window.

Or the wrong time of day, or the computer just hates you. How many guesses are you willing to take before you start to think that there must be a logical solution?

Yes, but did you clean your computer keyboard? Pethaps the computer still hates you?

I assume by this that you meant that you "imported' the patch using the IMPORT function?
(Uploading has an *entirely* different meaning, which is why different words are used to describe their functionality).

Using your own words will only confuse me/us.

In other words, it didn't produce any error messages (correct?)

Which database did you have selected when you 'uploaded' the patch? If it wasn't the zencart database you 'import' could have gone almost anywhere, and even caused damage to the other database.

Are you still talking about importing with phpmyadmin, or are you now referring to something that you are doing within zencart?
What is "it" in regards to "it opened a new window"?

Seriously, I'm at a loss trying to follow what you are doing. Please treat me as a total idiot and guide me step by step *exactly* what you are doing and what you are doing it with, otherwise all any of us can do is make guesses and assumptions (much like you are), and I can assure you that your guesses will be infinately better than ours. Please help us help you.

    Cheers

LOL I am sorry if I was not clear enough.

Yes this problem occurs in 2 situations.

    1) I am uploading patches. It is like it times out. No errors. Just goes right to the front end. I also might have said it wrong
to a blank page on the front end.

    2) Also happens if Zen is trying to create a file for me. Such as a Google Base Feed file. But this time it opens a new window. It says it is processing it however it times out (file is not created) then in the new window it shows my front end with a blank page.

I can show you a screen shot if you want me to.

Actually would also let you look at my config files if you think thats the problem.
(Just thinking why would it go to the front end.)

Uploading to where, and with what?

Front end of what? phpmyadmin, zencart admin, zencart store, front end of google?

I wasn't aware than zen even creates files (of any kind). Please explain to this idiot what files it is supposed to be creating, and how is it doing it? surely you have to select an option somewhere for this to occur, which option? where is it located?

Again, what is 'it'? Is it *supposed* to open a new window, or is that another symtom of your problem?

It will be doing one or the other. It can't do both at the same time.
What do you mean by 'my front end' anyway? Are we still talking about zencart, or are we now back to phpmyadmin?

I suppose a screenshot couldn't hurt. It may even answer the question of what is 'it', BUT, I'm under the impression that you have a phpmyadmin import function problem (or was it an upload problem?. Two different things), and I'm also under the impression your also have another kind of problem with Zencart (the other 'it'? ), so somehow or other, 'a screenshot' won't be enough, we'll probably need a screenshot of each.

    Back to you.

Ok lets just talk about my Google Base Feed and Not SQL patches for now.

Uploading to where, and with what?
    >>Google Base Feeder

    What is "it"?
Having Google Base Feeder generate a Google Base Feed that I can upload

Front end of what? phpmyadmin, zencart admin, zencart store, front end of google?
    >>>Zencart Store. The Opposite of the Admin Side

I wasn't aware than zen even creates files (of any kind). Please explain to this idiot what files it is supposed to be creating, and how is it doing it? surely you have to select an option somewhere for this to occur, which option? where is it located?
    >>> The module Google Merchant Center generates a file that can be picked up by Google via a grab or you can upload it directly to Google Merchant Center.

Again, what is 'it'? Is it *supposed* to open a new window, or is that another symtom of your problem?
    >>>> See screen shot. It opens a new window to show the progress of the generated file. At first it looks like it is going to do it. Then my Store side goes in the window.

    Again, what is 'it'?
    >>>> Google Merchant Feed

Does 'it' tell you the file isn't created? How do you know it wasn't created in a place you are not looking?
Is 'it' supposed to be creating a file, or is 'it' supposed to be inserting something into the database?
    >> See screenshot. It does not tell me anything. The file generated is supposed to be listed at the bottom of the 1st screen.
I think the screen shots will really help you understand this.

It will be doing one or the other. It can't do both at the same time.
What do you mean by 'my front end' anyway? Are we still talking about zencart, or are we now back to phpmyadmin?
    >>> I am now just talking about the google merchant center. I think if I solve this problem it may solve the other.

Rod. Thank you so much for helping me. I am sorry if I was not clear enough.

If I showed you a My Sql patch. It would do the same thing.

That's a bit of a problem. I know lots about SQL, but nothing about the Google Base feed.

That doesn't mean I can't try to help though.

Firstly, would I be wrong in thinking that this is the module that you are using?
    http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=319

If it is, then I'm going to suggest that you could be wasting your time with it. The reason being is that although this was updated relatively recently (1st Apr 2012) the descriptions clearly indicate that this is suitable for ZenCart versions 1.3.9 and *below*.

Your screenshots show that you zencart is running V1.5.0 (which has a lot of changes, especially in regards to the admin functions), and the fact the the module has had this recent update, but there is no mention that the update had anything to do with V1.5.0 compatibilty I think it would be fair to assume that it *isn't* compatible.

This would certainly explain a few things, such as the 'blank page', which is quite typical of a security related error, and the abilty for the module to create files.

Other than this observation and the assumptions I've derived from it, I really don't think i can help you.

Sorry about that. Perhaps someone else would care to step in with their ideas/views (none of what I have asked you has been wasted, your responses probably contain the clues they need too).

    Cheers
    Rod

I think it may have to do with my Config Files.

Why would it go to the home page...

    Things has got me baffled.
