    Default Site Slow!!

    Hi,
    My site seems to have gone very slow lately. The problem is frustrating as its intermittent, some times it runs fine and others it can be very slow. For example take a look at the Parse times which I have recorded in the last hour alone. There are huge variations in times.
    1. Parse time 2.824 Number of Queries 269 Query Time: 2.4704
    2. Parse time 16.825 Number of Queries 269 Query Time: 16.0698
    3. Parse time 39.316 Number of Queries 269 Query Time: 37.6879
    4. Parse time 56.577 Number of Queries 269 Query Time: 54.4172

    The website is http://www.sportsbooks.ie/ and I have enabled parse times at bottom of page for viewing.

    Any help or direction you could give would be greatly apreciated as i seem to be hitting a brick wall with it at moment!

    I got parse times similar to your #4. It stalled the longest for me when trying to load (I think) your Facebook connection (a problem i'm seeing more and more of) but when I hear about intermittent page load issues, I think 'hosting problems' first. Who's your host ?

    You could also try turning on GZip ... Configuration ... GZip Compression ... and turn it on:
    Enable GZip Compression
    0= off 1= on

    Thanks Ajeh, enabled Gzip but no improvement.

    Steve,
    I disabled facebook on the site for a few days but it didnt solve problem either. Host is Digiweb in Ireland. I contacted them but they claim there is no problem on their side as I have other websites on same shared account and they are working fine (which is true).
    The only difference is this site uses a database, would this matter?
    Thanks for help,
    Trevor
