What I'd like to do is have a product in my store that itself draws from other products for it's content. For example, my kit "a" contains items "b" and "c", and when a customer purchases "a" at it's price, inventory is removed from "b" and "c" and item "a" count remains the same, as it's really a "virtual" count.
I know that Zen Cart doesn't have this natively, at least 139h doesn't. I don't know that 1.5 does. I've looked at Better Together, and I don't believe that it's what I'm after, and swguy's Auto Add to Cart is commercial; looking at his demo, it does kinda what I'm after, but it's all out in the open where it may confuse customers.
I have a module from OSCommerce called Master and Slave products that would do exactly what I'm after. I'm trying to convert it using the convert from OSC post, but I've run into a problem. The module requires edits to core files, and the core files are at bit different (Obviously) and if I can't find the code to edit, it's a bit hard to edit, y'know...
So I'm asking for some help, either with a ZC module that actually does what I'm after (that I haven't found...) or some help converting the OSC mod, or even some help to make an ugly hack to do what I'm after, I'm a bit lost trying to follow the ZC code (I know NO PHP, I could fake the stuff I want if I knew where to put it, I think.)
Now, that all the more experience folks are done laughing at me ;-) can anyone advise?
Thanks.
