I need a template!

Anyone here willing/able to help me out with a new template? I want one that looks similar to this one: http://demo.algozone.com/zencart/ZC04A00429/ . I'm hesitant to purchase as I want to use ZC1.5 and I want the functionality to be intact.

I'm mostly wanting the generic look here, with a dark background, transparent overlay, white product background. I'm able to do my own graphics I just don't have the time to create the template.

That sliding category menu is extremely irritating. You may think it looks "great", but I'll bet your customers will hate it.

Keep things SIMPLE and EASY... the secret of good eCommerce sites is their simplicity.

Avoid the temptation to introduce "fancy" stuff - just because it's "fancy".

Unless a feature ADDS to the ease-of-use, don't include it.

However, if you really want to irritate your customers with that stupid slider, you will have to re-construct the header DIVS that drive the top category menu.

Personally, I wouldn't use it. It really is horrible.

At this point, I have no intention of using the slider.

I agree that ease of use is VERY, VERY, VERY important, but branding, marketing, and image are just as important to the success of a website and the products being sold; as well as the market you are targeting.

There are MANY GOOD FREE templates available, that can be easily re-styled. Those by jadetrue (applezen) and picaflor azul (all business) are particularly good.

Yes, there may be a free template that I can use and I am willing & able to do that... modify the colors, background, etc. What I don't know how to do is to have a semi-transparent box that is over the background and under the products, that will grow and shrink with the page or to create the white product boxes with rounded corners (yes, that's important and would prefer that the overlay had rounded corners as well). Here's my mockup. BTW, I only have 4 products.

Estimates I've gotten for a custom site have gone from 2 to 6 grand... I can't afford that!

Those two features are relatively simple CSS and can be applied to most any template (though the rounded corners will not show in IE7 or earlier).
The background would be applied to an element like #contentMainWrapper which encloses all of the center content, with margins to keep it spaced in from the edges of the whole page (which is probably #mainWrapper). You would probably use a transparent gif or png which has the right degree of translucency, or perhaps other methods - I haven't done translucent backgrounds yet myself. The rounded corners are done with the border-radius property applied to whatever containers you wish.

I have no live site, this is a new business. My test site has ZC v1.5 installed with no modifications.

Install a template that does what you want in larger layout/behavior issues, and then we can advise on styling for these items.
