Country list issue

Hi all,
I am after around 5 hours of searching a solution for this with no luck and finally gave up.

I am using "Static List - Shipping Module", anyways, when a customer arrives to a part where he needs to choose his country from the drop down menu my store country appears at the top of the list and not in its place alphabetically.

The real problem comes up when customers from my own country tries to choose from the drop down list, 90% of them automatically scroll down and think i don't ship locally

Is there a way to change that? so all countries including my own be arranged alphabetically...

What setting are you using on the:
Configuration ... Customer Details ...

Create Account Default Country ID
Set Create Account Default Country ID to:
Default is 223

And if you change that to your Country? How does it work now?

Well.... it does solve my problem but only partly.

Now the default country in my list is my own country but... i mainly ship to the US so i wanted it to be the default.

For now it will do... but i will be really happy to leave the default US and my own country alphabetically in order.

My default country is showing on top of the drop down menu at the create account page, is it possible to have all the countries listed in alphabetical order?
