Removing Individual Products from Featured Products Group / Display

Hello,

I'll just start off by apologizing . . . I'm brand new to the forum and relatively new to Zen Cart so if I'm in the wrong section or asking something that's super simple please forgive. I've googled and searched the forums with no matches to my problem . . . so I'm reaching out to the Zen Cart community in the hopes of finding an answer.

The problem I'm having is that every new product added to the store is being placed in the "Featured Product" section on the home page. Does anyone know of an easy way to select / group individual products so they don't show up in the "Featured Products" list or perhaps have a time out set on how long individual products are shown there? It seems like the only way to move products out is to add new ones.

A stock Zencart installation doesn't do that, so we'll need (at least) a link to the site and a description of any mods you've installed and modifications you've made.

Another possibility is you are displaying the "New Products" box on your homepage instead of the "Featured Products" box. You can choose what type of products are featured on your main page under Configuration > Index Listing

Check the list of actual "Featured Products" on your backend under Catalog > Featured Products. If every one of your products is listed there automatically, you may have a module installed that is doing this (as stevesh mentioned, that's not default ZenCart behavior).
