Can I call other API??

HI Everyone ,


I am new to this side.Actually I have no idea about php.But I want to use Zen cart in my APi.I have a problem.I want to develop a e-commerce application By using Zen cart. But i want to use Java API in front end.I want to pass a request from front end to URL of Zen cart ,zen cart process it and give me output in XML format.So that further i a parse the xml file and can use in my front end.Is it possible to do in this way in zen cart.If it is please help me.Give any idea or any dummy code.So that i can use it.

i am comfortable with my API(java) & i can change my mvc pattern as i want.i also want to use some other API. if i can use zen cart in back end i will consume my time and effort.

or a shopping cart add on to YOUR website.

You did not get my point!!!my intention is i want to develop a e-commerce web site like zen cart.but i want use all front page and controlling in my API(java).But i want to use Admin part of Zen cart application. Because zen cart provide very good feature of admin site.and my exiting website also use
zen cart application.so i no need to change zen cart.Just i want to merge zen cart in my application. and i call zen cart API when i required in my application,zen cart processing my request and give me out put in XML format.Thus i can shoe the result in my API.

This is my intention.If you have any idea ,please share with me.Thanks..

Sounds like you are trying to build a car... when you already have a car...

While you are free to do whatever you like with ZC, I don't think people on the forum will share your enthusiasm - unless of course you are comfortable with paying good salaries for what seems to be a complicated (if not also rather pointless) undertaking.

Of am I missing something?

As gilby asked earlier... what is the business reason for you wanting to do this?

And try to explain in simple, non-technical terms, because I am not very clever, I'm afraid... (That's why I am still at school )

Thanks for your complement.my business logic is i have already a e-commerce web site that developed in zen cart application.now i want to make it iPhone/Blackberry/android enable application through my java API. I have two way. 1st i can develop totally a e-commence website through My API as Zen cart ,& 2nd one is I can use some Zen cart functionality in my application. and you know 2nd one is the better way.If i can use zen cart in my application i not not to take more risk .Because zen cart gives all facilities what we want.....

This is my intention.If you give more idea how to do this ,i remain grateful to you..

It is unlikely that you will get "free help" for this massive undertaking on this forum. Everyone offering help on this forum does so for free, so I don't think you will find people who can readily give up hundreds of hours on your project.

There are already many "commercial" offerings for integrating zencart on mobile devices, and MOST of these are just well-designed php templates that remove a lot of the "cosmetics" of a zencart site, and offer up bare-bones data to mobile devices, configured to meet the various constraints of those devices.

Some knowledgeable people - outside of the core developers - (eg: Delia Wilson, Kuroi, Ceon, Glenn Herbert, Stevesh,) who contribute vast swathes of valuable free time to helping out on this forum, have also spent time developing excellent custom applications. If you can show such people that there is some mutual benefit to working with you, then you may garner some interest...
