Pass Customer Variables into Cart?

Setting up a new, small store for a friend of mine. Actually just one item so that would be essentially the homepage. Things is he wants it where some of the Ship to form appears on that item page and you fill it out and then click Add to Cart and then that data is already filled into the Shipping Info area of the cart.

So my question is can ZenCart do this somehow? Kind of like EasyPopulate but in this case for customer data instead of for product data.

It could be done if you are proficient with custom PHP coding, but is not supported in stock Zen Cart.

I'm not. That's why I was looking for a tutorial on it.

It is a complex and sensitive enough area of code that it should not be tackled by someone who is not familiar with PHP and the Zen Cart structure. Changing the behavior of this part of the code especially is likely to invalidate the Zen Cart PCI security certification, which you need if you are accepting credit cards on your site.

That said, if you are not concerned about PCI validation and are a quick learner, you can probably find threads dealing with taking attribute input from products and handling it in the cart page; you may need to combine approaches from multiple posts to get the full result.
