2 USPS problems: First class not showing as option, other options prices are high

I have installed the USPS shipping module on my V1.5 cart. I am experiencing 2 problems:

1.) I cannot get first class to show as an option even though I have chosen it as an option in the admin page and the weight of my products are 0.5 lbs.

2.) The cost of shipping is higher than what the USPS shipping calculator says on the USPS website. It is about $1-1.50 higher than it should be

What are your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

What are your settings in the right hand panel for USPS ...

Just by you responding I was able to figure it out. I was so concentrated on the USPS add-on setting that I forgot about the configuartion settings. The problem was my tare setting of 0:3, that added 3 pounds to every order.
