    Default Quantity Units errors.

    Hello,

I am getting folloiwng error in minimum qty.

    *************************************************
    Please update your order.
    ... Quantity Units errors -
You ordered a total of: 155000 Min: 155000
    Units: 35000
    **************************************************
    My setting is as follows;
    Product Qty Minimum: 155000
    Product Qty Maximum:0
    Product Qty Units:35000

    Products Quantity:1000000

If I change the Product Qty to Minimumn and Product Quantity to 4 figures(e.g 4320)
    it works withou error.
But if I set to more than 4 figures gives error.
I also check in Data Base table and all other setting, but it is Ok and works well to
other items which have 4units figures in Product Qty. to Minimum.

I checked all forum and could not find any such error.
Would anyone please instruct me what I have to do to correct this error.

My Zen Cart version is 1.5

Thank you in advance for the help

This is the mininum qty a person can order at any given time. Typically this is usually set to '1'.

If you need a customer to buy 155000 of these items at a time then why not 'prepack' them in lots of (say) 50,000, that way they only need to order 1 item in order to get the 50,000, or 3 items to get 150,000 of them.

This setting is making it so that a customer can olny order this product in increments of 35,000, so the smallest amount they can order is 155,000 items, and they can progesisivly increase this to place orders for 155,000, 190,000, 225,000, 260,000, etc, etc.

Is this *really* what you want?

Sorry, but I really have no idea as to what is causing the error. In theory your settings *should* work ok (even though they are extreemely unusual), and I can only assume that there is something somwhere in the zencart code that performs some kind of validation/sanity check that is failing because the data appears to be 'unreasonable'

I seriously doubt that anyone has ever attemped settings with such high values, and that you should probably have a rethink about what you are trying to achieve. As I stated, I'd really love to know what you are selling if the minimum purchase quantity is 155,000.
Heck, even if the items are only 1cent each that makes your minimum purchase order over $1500.00 !!

    Cheers

    Dear Rod,
Thank you very much for your kindness in going through my post.
I am plannig to sell cheap pesn in private brand. For private brand it is
    needed minimum lot of 155,000.
This the reason of minimum qty. so big.
If I get some hint where zencart code that performs some kind of
validation/sanity check that is failing because the data appears to be 'unreasonable' like big values,
it will be really great help.

Thank you for your co-operation in advance.

    My setting is as follows;

    Product Qty Units:35000
    35000 is not a unit of 155000 ... that is 4.428571428571429

Units must fit into the Minimum correctly or it will fail ...

Example: If I want a minimum of 10, I cannot use a unit of 3 ... 3 does not evenly go into 10

I still think you'll be better of selling these in 'lots' of (say) 50,000 per 'lot'.

You'll still be able to 'force' a minimum purchase by then setting the minimum qty to '3'
(OK, you'll be 5,00 short, but hopefully you get the idea)?

Firstly this is just an assumption. Such code may not even exist. You may even have triggered a bug or something else that is causing things to fail with the values you are using.

Secondly, even if the problem is caused by sanitation check It could take ages to trace the code to find where it is located. One of the development team may know if such code exists, and if so, where to find it, but even this is doubtful unless it just happens to be code they've worked on in recent times. In short, I'm not going to be of much more help to you, but one of the core developers *might* be able to help.

No need to open a separate thread or post another message asking though. Those folk are very good at what they do, and if one of them does have an answer I'm sure they'll see this thread and respond if they have any ideas.

Meanwhile I still urge you to reconsider what you are doing... Heck, even packaging the items in 35,000 lots is going to simplify things for both you and your customers. This way you can have your settings like:

    Product Qty Minimum: 5
    Product Qty Maximum:0
    Product Qty Units: 1

Each 'quantity unit' being a 'lot' of 35000 (therefre the minimum purchase will be 5 x 35000 = 175,000 (only 20,000 more than previously), and they'll still be able to order in further increments of 35000 just by adding '1' item at a time. This is sure to be easier for all than having your customers enter numbers like '190,000' or '225,000', or some other number divisible by your 35000 increments.

    Cheers
    Rod

Thanks Ajeh. I didn't realise this (obviously). I'd assumed (for no particular reason) that the code in this case would round up/down to the nearest valid divisor.

As usual, assumptions can be dangerous, and as usual, thanks for your input/clarification.

    Cheers

Not a problem ... a lot of others may have had a similar assumption ... not all would look at this as a literal case of X/Y ...

    Dear Ajeh(oba-san),
Thank you very much for your kind advise.
After correcting the Product Quantity Minimum(in my case changed to 180,000)
which can be divisable by Product Quantity Unit(in my case 36,000),
    it worked perfectly.

    oh! thank you very much.

    I love zencart.

    Thank you.

    Dear RodG,
Thank you very much for your kind attention.
I tried to change in unit pack
However, as per Ajeh' suggestion, I tried
by correcting the Product Quantity Minimum(in my case changed to 180,000)
which can be divisable by Product Quantity Unit(in my case 36,000),
    it worked perfectly.

    The problem is solved.
Lastly once again thank you very much.

    Faithfully,
