Admin: please link this plugin to my Github.
This highlights the problem with the static plugins section. I have several things in there but no way I am going to "release" a new version for some minor change.
Sod's Law says as soon as you upload a new version, you find another problem. Especially with php moving the goalposts on a monthly basis.
So, I don't do that. I spend enough time altruistically providing code to worry about updating things here. For that is Github.
I tried this plugin in the past, and as usual with most plugins, found problems with it and a better way of doing things. So it's on GitHub,
The update here to the original plugin you refer to was nothing more than removing obsolete files. Not an update at all.
The whole mechanism of Plugins needs a complete rethink, now we are down to only a handful of people-interested-in-coding.
And it's perfectly reasonable to distrust stuff outside this site....but also you should distrust from a quality point of view what is in the plugins too, all and sundry have stuffed things in there of very varying quality.
