Combining shipping methods

Hi I am new to Zen Cart. I have an issue concerning shipping modules. My company is currently using the yahoo store. We have decided to do it ourselves using Zen Cart. Everything so far is working great. My companies wants to retain the way we are current shipping through yahoo. However I am not sure how to get Zen Cart to do it.

The issue is:

The shipping charges are a rate per order + a rate per pound (example: $10.00 per order + $3.00 per pound).

I see a shipping module for flat rate and one for per weight, but nothing to allow me to apply both.

any suggestion?

Use the Per Unit perweightunit shipping modules ...

Shipping Cost per Unit to 3.00 ...
Set the Handling Fee to 10.00 ...
Set the Handling Per Order or Per Box to Order ...

See if that accomplishes what you are trying to do ...

The solution worked great... I did run into another issue. This one is with cloning the shipping module. Everything is working as I expected. The only issue is the wording. I have changed the language file but the changes to the cloned version will not change. I am not sure what to do. The none cloned modules text changed, but not the cloned one. yet it calculates the shipping cost correctly.

any ideas? should I start a new thread?

What module did you clone?

What are the filenames that you used?

What changes in the code did you use when making the changes to make the clones?

I cloned the perweightunit module.. I found the issue... It was type-o... I copied the perweightunit to perweightunit1 and then changed all the perweightunit and PERWEIGHTUNIT to perweightunit1 and PERWEIGHTUNIT1. however after looking real closely at them I found a couple of them were accually low case "L" not a "1". I am not sure how I did that one :) The keys are not even close to one an other. changing them to "1" solved my problem.. Thank you Ajeh for the quick response and all your help. hopefully this helps others.
