How do I put my store logo graphic in the header?

Hi all.

After some really great help from Stevesh, I've finally got my Zen Cart the way I want it. Just 2 more changes and I think I'll be ready to enter my products and publish. I'll take them one at a time:

I'd like to replace the top section (the area in yellow in the attachment) with my store logo graphic. Can someone please tell me how to do that.

I'm pretty much a newbe to Zen Cart, so please be specific.

Maybe not specific, but you might try two things:

1. Make a logo the necessary size, upload it as a normal logo, and see what hapens.

2. Make it a background image, replacing the default background image that comes with the classic template.

If you go to this zencart template site you should see examples of templates working off of the Classic template that has such a logo. You can download one and see how it was done...or perhaps use that template:

I already have the graphic, the problem is I don't know where to put it -- be kind

As I said, I'm a newbe. Where do I upload the graphic to? Also, will it be displayed on all pages (catalog, shopping cart, checkout, etc.)?

Hopefully you set-up the template custom over-ride system?

Logo pics go in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/images folder

Default is a gif. If you've made a jpg or a png you'll have to indicate that in the languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/header.php file. You can also set dimensions there.

Now, if you did not set-up a template over-ride system you might try loading your logo to includes/templates/classic/images.

But without the template over-ride, you'll be in trouble soon enough with upgrades and plugins.

One more thing while you're working on your new logo.

The Classic template comes at a narrow 750px wide. We're now using 1000px wide since screens are now bigger. If you're using the default Classic width, you might want to adjust the width of your site (see stylesheet) and your new logo to match.

That did it! Now, if I could only figure out how to change the background color and the awful green color, I'd be a happy camper.

Most of the green color on the Classic template are the sidebox header images and such. You can either make a new image for those, or use just html color code.

Pretty much everything pertaining to color and background images is in the stylesheet. You can change font color there also.
